Songs of our Fathers

We do not stop only on what is merely contemporary in our work, we believe that creativity becomes deeper and more mature when it includes the voices of centuries past – when the timeless message is sung again in hymns that glorify God. We can read about this in the Book of Psalms, and we experience it through the spiritual and cultural continuity of a rich, historic Christianity. It is a legacy revealed across languages, cultures, nations, denominations, and church traditions.

Few today remember these songs. Fewer still have experienced them. The songs of our fathers are our spiritual testimony, an inherited legacy, written into the hearts of believers across generations. The songs of our fathers is not an open-air museum of church music traditions, it is living and eternal music directed to the living and eternal God. It is a multi-generational, cross-denominational and multi-ethnic gathering at the feet of Jesus.

SONGS OF OUR FATHERS continues a concert and album project that began in 2016 by Mate.O.

We are now working on SONGS OF OUR FATHERS vol. 2, and the community continues to grow – welcoming more musicians, worship school students (Jest więcej, Przebudzenie), Pieśniopisarze (Hymn writers) and vocalists. SONGS OF OUR FATHERS vol. 2 is about standing on the shoulders on the men and women of faith from past gen-erations. As we sing the songs of our fathers, we express the unity of Christians who to-gether praise God in the universal dimension of the Church. The work on the album is nearly complete. In 2025, we will embark on a journey across Poland to unite the Church in worship.
